The Visual VCL Component Help application provides an intiutive point and click interface to allow for the rapid development of help for components written in Delphi Pascal for both Delphi and CBuilder components. Help for CBuilder components is restricted to those CBuilder components written in Delphi. To build a skeletal help use the few steps detailed below:
Scan in the source files, using the file menu, for the components for which help topics are to be generated ( Delphi Souce only )
Scan in the Delphi VCL source files, using the file menu, to obtain links to descendant classes for your components and classes.
Hit the Compile button and then select the help target ( Delphi 3-6 or CBuilder 3-5).
Copy the resultant .CNT and .HLP files to the Delphi or CBuilder development environment help directory and enjoy.
Using the following listed features the application can generate a skeletal help file with full hyperlinks and requisite pop up windows typically in under a couple of minutes.
 Single Project for Target Help Files : |
The application simplifies the creation of Delphi and CBuilder target help by providing for common text for Delphi and CBuilder help topics whenever possible. Where content is either CBuilder or Delphi specific, the application provides an easy to use interface to update the target specific information. | ||

namely the Class Hierarchy and the Legend pop ups.

All topic browse groups are automatically generated and
maintained simplifying the creation of professional looking help.

| Automatic Links and Dialog Box Generation : |
The application also automatically generates all hyper links for items within the project and also items that reference help topics in other help files. This frees the developer to concentrate on content and leave the hyperlink generation to the application. In addition, the application simplifies the creation of See-Also dialog boxes by reducing the effort to point and click. | ||

For those help topics that the application classifies as
general help topics, a Delphi Pascal include file is generated comprising constants that
relate to the Topic IDs of those general help topics. |

| Background Save File Facility : |
To ensure that work carried out is always saved, the
application continuosly stores all project updates as a background thread thus ensuring
that the developer does not have to worry about having to be remember to save any updates. |
